Ariel Foundation Park, Mt. Vernon, Ohio

Need a different perspective?

The Ariel Foundation Park in Mt. Vernon features this Rastin Observation Tower and its 150 feet of see-through steps.

The tower is well-loved by my girls. Not so much by my husband.

It is open from dawn to dusk and is free to “enjoy.” UPDATE: The tower is closed during the winter months. Check their website for more information.

Take your family here if you want a place where they can just run and explore and get some of that energy out! Paved walking paths, ruins of old buildings, woods, lakes, terraces, that kind of thing. Fishing, too.

We mostly go for the climb.

The tower at Ariel Foundation Park is officially Family Fun Approved (just don’t ask my husband to go up with you)!
